Overview

Piano lessons are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3pm-5:30pm

Each lesson is 1/2hour long

I accept students of ALL ages
*There is no minimum age

I GLADLY accept students with special needs

You do NOT need to have a piano to begin lessons. I have cardboard pianos for my students to take home and practice on until you find an affordable piano. You can even begin with a simple keyboard (can often find at a thrift store). There are also places that allow you to rent a practice room, such as the Piano Gallary.

Why FHS?

Most piano teachers won't accept students before age 6. By that age several children have lost their interest in learning! My lessons focus on having fun with music as well as the basics of piano.
I have my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from BYU-Idaho
I have been playing piano for several years. I am currently the pianist for my church's primary group.
I have had 11 years of experience working with children/adults with special needs.
Just ask anyone that knows me... I am very passionate about children with autism especially. ;o)
I was first introduced to the piano by my mother on some old little keyboard, and I would often play those color-coded piano toys where the song notes were all colors and you just match the note colors to the key colors and you play a simple song! I REALLY wanted to play, so I didn't care what I was playing on! I'm still that way... I just love to play and play and play! It's that love and interest in the piano that I hope to instill in my students. My philosophy is if you love practicing, with a little guidance you are definitely going to be able to play the piano well!
